Through an uncompromising commitment to presentation, education and the creation of new work, the University Musical Society (UMS) serves Michigan audiences by showcasing world-class artists who represent the spectrum of today’s live performing arts world. For 125 years strong leadership and a devoted community have ensured UMS’ stature as an internationally recognized performing arts presenter. We continuously seek to cultivate, nurture, and stimulate public interest and participation in every facet of the live arts. UMS collaborates with many academic units of the University to present programs and educational activities on varying topics that enhance the curriculum, and we offer discounts on performances to all U-M students.
