This is a full time, term limited position ending approximately 10 months to 1 year after start date.
Position Description
Under the direction of Development Community Learning (DCL) team members, provides support for the development, implemention and administration of training and learning resources and services. Support includes project and administrative work as assigned.
Learning and performance support solutions will have a technology or development focus. Development Community Learning activities include support of the development system project (DART) training, development community training (technology, professional skills). Solutions will often require effective use of technology (e.g., MS Office especially Word and PowerPoint, in-house learning management system, internal intranet (DevNet).
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Training Responsibilities – 45%
- Creates and/or modifies performance support tools (e.g. job aids, reference guides) and presentation materials as part of an overall training solution. Partners with project leader to ensure that work aligns with the overall training solution. Provides progress updates and drafts for input as the tools are created.
- May partner with an instructor to deliver portions of classroom training and/or to support the facilitation of classroom sessions.
Program Coordination – 35%
- Administers assigned programs or activities, which may include setting up, monitoring and managing registration, marketing the program, setting up the room, facilitating or monitoring the session, survey creation and follow up activities.
Administrative Responsibilities – 15%
- Performs administrative duties associated with DCL project work, as assigned.
Other Responsibilities – 5%
- As assigned, researches and benchmarks resources and programs that inform the development of DCL's projects.
Required Qualifications
- 0-2 years related experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
- Demonstrated experience in working effectively with others to ensure successful completion of projects.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with people to provide strong customer service and to drive towards results.
- Proven ability to be a team player and thrive in a collaborative environment, while at the same time be able to work independently on specific activities to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Strong technological skills are required, as well as deep interest in technological applications and tools.
- Strong working knowledge and application of Microsoft Office (minimally MS Word, PowerPoint), as well as other database, email and calendar-keeping software is required.
- Proven ability to be proactive in raising and/or dealing with issues as they arise.
- Solid organizational, analytical and independent problem solving skills.
- Proven ability to effectively prioritize work and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead portions of projects that include others inside and outside the immediate team.
- Proven detail orientation with a high degree of creativity, initiative, and resourcefulness.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively to varying levels and sizes of client groups, both in verbal and written format.
- Ability to maintain highly confidential information on a variety of sensitive subjects or situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Development/fundraising experience is desirable.
- Creating presentations and/or training sessions, and presenting to medium sized audiences (20-25 people) is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Camtasia a plus.
- Experience with development systems a plus – EIS, DevNet, DC3
