This is a PART-TIME position of 24 hrs./week. This is a Temporary assignment of aproximately 16 weeks.

Position Description

The Office of University Development is seeking 2 editorial assistants for research purposes during the 2011 U of M football season.  

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

* Database lookups
* Fact checking and cross-referencing
* Copy editing, formatting, and proofreading
* Preparing documents to be imaged
* Submitting database updates

Required Qualifications

* Strong reading comprehension, ability to learn from context
* Strong commitment to quality and consistency
* Meticulous attention to detail
* Good to strong writing and proofreading skills
* Good organizational and time-management skills
* Basic internet searching
* Basic listening skills
* Proficient and experienced with advanced features of the Microsoft Office 2007 suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access)
* Ability to work quickly and efficiently, handle last-minute changes, and adapt as procedures evolve
* Familiarity with EIS preferred but not required
* Familiarity with relational databases preferred but not required
* Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment
* Demonstrated ability to work independently
* Knowledge of Microsoft Word mail merge
